The Stihl Timbersports Series made it's way to the beautiful state of Utah this past weekend. Being a city-boy my whole life, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to watch a bunch of men hack through lumps of wood with axes, saws and chainsaws and connect with my long-supressed inner-woodsman. Here are some pictures from my phone to document the experience.
The last one is an event called the Speed Climb, where, believe it or not, the object is to climb the poles as fast as possible and then drop back to the base even faster. That was the most impressive event of the day and kudos to the guys who can do it. I must admit that I enjoyed the day. It was something different, and not something I would/could ever do, but I can appreciate it all the same.

To bad you shaved the crazy hair in your new pic. You would have fit right in with it :)
the speed climb is pretty awesome - i agree with you on that - too bad they didn't have a barn raising competition (think 7 brides for 7 brothers) - i know way less macho and brawny-esque than stihl would want :)
